In the window, you can also

  1. switch the color format
  2. delete the history
  3. click anywhere in the color area of the window to start picking a color
  4. compare the WCAG normality of the foreground and background colors
  5. make a copy
  6. Click Apple Color to call Apple's system color picker.

Magnifying glass

Using the system color picker

The system color picker takes up a small amount of resources, but it obscures the mouse and the window is too small. If you are not used to the system color picker, keep it turned off.

Avoids blocking the mouse

When this item is turned on, the magnifier will switch from centering mode to following the mouse pointer, but this option is disabled when using the system color picker:

Lens Resolution

The higher the lens resolution, the more accurate the color picker is, but it will also consume more hardware resources, please adjust it according to your actual experience.

Copy

You can copy the color directly to the clipboard after picking up the color to use it in other programs.

The format you select at the top of the color window will also be applied to the automatic copy here.

Color space

The color space will affect the actual value of the color, the same color in different color space, there are different ways to represent, please select the color space required by your working scenario, such as matching the color space of your printer or monitor, and try not to change it too often.

WCAG Normality

If you want your product to be usable by a wider range of people (especially some with color recognition difficulties), you should comply with the WCAG contrast requirements.

The bottom of the color-awareness window shows how well the contrast of your chosen foreground and background colors is met - when contrast is not met, a gray x will appear in normal or large fonts: !
